CHANDLER MOORE SANDERS

Studio Owner | Operator | Instructor

Chandler Moore Sanders owned and operated Core Pilates on 17th in San Francisco, CA (7 years) and co-owned Core Pilates Sausalito in Sausalito, CA (2 years) before returning to Springfield to focus on her own family as wife and stay-at-home mom. Throughout those precious years with her family, she remained active in Pilates--working with various studios in the community and traveling throughout the United States to continue training others in Pregnancy Fitness and Postpartum Rehabilitation.

As a Certifying Instructor for STOTT Pilates, Pilates Academy International, and a Master Trainer for the Center for Women’s Fitness, the capstone of Chandler’s thousands of hours of studying, teaching, and cultivating a personal Pilates practice has been realizing her vision to bring her expertise back to where she discovered her passion. Chandler received her Bachelor’s of Science in Therapeutic Dance from Missouri State University in 2001. She discovered Pilates as part of her degree program and was inspired to share the benefits of this unique fitness technique. She initially trained as an Instructor and Instructor Trainer through STOTT PILATES™ and continued to diversify her knowledge through an array of continuing education. She has certified through The Center for Women’s Fitness as a Pregnancy Fitness and Postpartum Rehabilitation Specialist and The Pink Ribbon Program as a Breast Cancer Rehabilitation Specialist. She has also completed the Mt. Sinai School of Medicine’s Functional Anatomy for Movement and Injuries workshop and has a comprehensive understanding of the human body. Chandler’s background includes sports medicine training, strength, and cardio training. Prior to opening Moore Wellness Studio, she collaborated with physical therapists to rehabilitate injured patients and help them realign their posture.

Over the years, Chandler has developed a comfortable balance between providing anatomical content and cultivating personal connections allowing individualized instruction for her clients. Her ability to engage her clients in an articulate, candid, yet professional manner facilitates a thoughtful and fun Pilates practice. Chandler connects further with her clients because she has personally seen the therapeutic impacts Pilates has to offer. As a mother of three, she experienced first-hand the healing and recovery a Pilates practice offers--from post-emergency C-section recovery to preparation for and recovery from Vaginal Birth After Cesarean (VBAC). Each pregnancy offers a unique opportunity to educate women with regard to their birthing and recovery options; encouraging women to trust their bodies while developing a strong, healthy foundation as they begin their journey into motherhood.

Her personal hobbies include dance, rock-climbing, mixed martial arts, and yoga. Chandler married her high school sweetheart in June of 2007 and coaxes him to mat class whenever possible--which he secretly loves. When she’s not at the studio, you can find Chandler shuttling her 3 children between their various activities, serving on the Eugene Field’s PTA board and volunteering within the school, serving on her neighborhood pool board, or volunteering with The Southwest Center for Independent Living. Chandler also loves spending time with other moms, exercising, hosting book clubs, meeting for playdates, and just hanging out to talk over a glass of wine. There’s rarely a dull moment, as she thrives from being active in her community and surrounding herself with family and friends.

 
 
 

Chandler is an AMAZING instructor. I love that she explains why we are doing each exercise or stretch and gives uvery thorough instructions and explanations so all skill levels can understand. She also always gives a modified version of whatever we are doing which helped me out so much as a beginner to her class.
